Few days ago I watched the movie Witness for the Prosecution. What a masterpiece. It is a 1956 movie. Billy Wilder is the director. Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich and Charles Laughton are the main protagonists.

The plot of the movie is based on an Agatha Christie story. A barrister (Laughton) decides to defend an innocent looking man (Power). The man is accused of killing an old lady. The wife of the man (Dietrich) is one of the decisive witnesses. The performances are superb. The plot twists come one after the other.

A, the barrister, suffers from heart disease and thus he is constantly under the surveillance of his personal nurse, played excellently by Elsa Lancehster.

Witness for the Prosecution is a real diamond. You are really captivated for two hours in front of the screen. No comparison with the modern super hero movies.

It deserves a place in any cinephile library.
