Fame of actors and actresses

In  previous posts I used the Ngram tool to identify the fame level of several actors and actresses. The unit of fame is the famon (= 1/1 000 000 relative % Ngram frequency).

So far I have identified the fame of 28 actors and actresses. Monroe and Wayne are at the top, with 50 famons each, followed by Sinatra and Allen, with 48 fand 34 famons respectively.

But what about James Bond actors?

The fame of James Bond actors

Here I estimate the fame of all actors that have played James Bond.

The Ngram analysis shows that the most famous James Bond actor is Sean Connery with fame of 11 famons.  Connery has one Oscar for best supporting actor. David Niven, with 5 famons, ranks second. He has also one Oscar for best leading actor.

Roger Moore, with 4.8 famons, ranks third. Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig have a fame of 3 famons. Finally, Dalton and Lazenby have the lowest fame, around 1 famon.

David Niven and Roger Moore appear in the electronic books much earlier than is justified by their professional career (i.e. their first movie appeared in 1932 and 1945 respectively). Obviously, these earlier appearances in the books refer to other persons.

I must mention here that as I have showed elsewhere, fame increases with time. Thus the fame of Craig and Brosnan, who are younger than the remaining actors, will be comparable to those of the other actors in about 10-20 years from now.

Notwithstanding, the fame of James Bond per se, 55 famons, is almost two times higher than the sum of the fame of all Bond actors and five times higher than that of the James Bond creator, Ian Fleming (10 famons).

Thus, Marylin Monroe and John Wayne beat everyone so far.

Will this change? Lets see…

Be tuned!
