Smart lighting is essential for home cinema (see previous posts). One elegant smart light which is essential for the decoration and function of the home cinema room is the Govee Neon Led Strip Light.

This strip is very flexible. It can take a plethora of shapes.

It can throw light in different patterns, from monochromatic white and color to multicolor patterns, either static or dynamic. And can be nicely dimmed to very low light levels. The latter is a prerequisite for a home cinema setup.

Installation of the led strip itself on the wall doesn’t take more than 10 min after we select the preferred shape of the flexible strip. Different shape patterns can be found in the Govee app as well as on the internet.

After installing it on the wall, we just add it in the Govee app. This is a breeze. We turn the light on and then just click the ‘+’ button on the right upper corner. The app identifies the device. There you go. We then name it.

We can easily change all its characteristics (i.e., color, pattern, dim level) through the Govee app, despite the fact that the app itself is not among the best out there. it is very fancy for my taste.

The led strip is directly identified in Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple Homekit, and Home Assistant, but not in Smartthings.

The Govee Neon Led Strip is not expensive and can elevate a home theater room to another level.
