Seoul is a modern city. It is clean and beautiful with large streets. It is dominated by modern high-rise buildings, outside of which there is always a big sculpture.
There are many modern shopping malls and aquaria. The people are very nice and polite.
There are very nice restaurants and the food and street food is impressive.
It is the world’s fourth largest metropolitan economy and Seoul has been rated as most livable Asia city, with the second-highest quality of life globally.
Among the various movies shot in Seoul I will mention two.
- The recent Netflix series Squid Game (2021, Original title: Ojing-eo geim), starring Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo and Yasushi Iwaki. It climbed to the Netflix hits very quickly and won several awards.
- The movie Parasite, 2019, directed by Bong Joon Ho, starring Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun and Cho Yeo-jeong. It won 4 Oscars: Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Achievement in Directing, Best Original Screenplay, Best International Feature Film.
They both deserve a place in any home cinema library. They both are very enjoyable on the big home screen and promise many hours of happy watching.
