In a series of earlier posts, I explored the fame of iconic actresses and actors from Hollywood. The vast majority of them have fame levels smaller than 20 famons.
Elvis Presley sits at the top, with 53 famons. He is closely followed by Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne and Frank Sinatra.

I explore the fame of the following five iconic actors/actresses:
- Barbra Streisand
- Faye Dunaway
- Jack Lemmon
- Tony Curtis
- Steve McQueen.
I also included in this comparison the famous Bob Dylan, who is considered one of the greatest songwriters. This is because he acted in documentaries (e.g., Renaldo and Clara (1978)), and has won one Oscar for his music. In addition, in 2016 Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
And the most famous so far is …
The use of Ngram shows that Bob Dylan has a fame of 60 famons. He climbs to the top of fame scale so far, surpassing Elvis.
Bob Dylan is followed by the actress of the sweet romantic movie The Way we Were, Barbra Streisand (11.5 famons), and Steve McQueen (7.5 famons), the cool protagonist of the atmospheric thriller The Tomas Crown Affair.
The protagonists of the classic comedy Some Like it Hot, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, enjoy fames of 5.4 and 6.2 famons, respectively. Finally, Faye Dunaway, the beautiful protagonist of the crime movie Bonnie and Clyde, has a fame of 3.5 famons.
The chronological appearances of the names of all of the above persons in the English electronic books follows their careers.
Bob Dylan is now at the top of the Ngram fame scale.
Will there be someone more famous than Dylan?
