Searching for actresses and actors more famous than Monroe and Wayne
In this post I present the results of the Ngram analysis for six more classic Hollywood icons some of which have been listed in the AFI greatest actors and actresses:
- Elvis Presley
- Bruce Lee
- Tom Hanks
- Michael Caine
- Jack Lemmon
- Chuck Norris.
This post is part of the series of posts searching for actresses/actors more famous than Monroe and Wayne.
Among the six actors, Elvis Presley (1935 – 1977) dominates the fame spectrum with 53 famons. The remaining actors have fame levels less than 20 famons:
- Bruce Lee, 17 famons,
- Tom Hanks, who has won two Oscars for best actor,13 famons,
- Chuck Norris, 10 famons,
- Michael Caine, who has won two Oscars for b 8 famons, and
- Jack Lemmon, who has won one Oscar for best actor and one for b 5 famons.
All the names of the six actors appear in the English electronic books between late 1950 to 1980 and time appearances generally follow their careers (e.g., their first appearance on the large screen).
Elvis, an American singer and actor known as the ‘King of Rock and Roll’, is one of the most important cultural figures of the 20th century. Thus, it is not a surprise that he is so far at the top of fame with 53 famons, surpassing Marylin’s and Wayne’s fame.
His first movie was the 1956 one Love me tender and since then he played in about 34 more movies. He has won several music awards.
Will Elvis keep his fame status when other actors and actresses are considered for the Ngram analysis?
Who knows.
Be tuned.
