I am Kostas Stergiou, a Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During the 2013-2021 period I also served as the Director of the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters of HCMR.

My (professional) research interests are on fish and fisheries ecology, modeling and forecasting, ecosystem management, and bibliometrics. I have contributed more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and several other publications. See my profile on Google Scholar.

I have been involved into the home cinema and smart home as a hobby since 2008 and 2015. Since then I have developed  and installed different home cinema setups in different houses which have also transformed into smart ones.

I am also a cinephile. During the period from the early 1980s to the late 2000s, I used to go to the cinema four times per week. Since the late 2000s, I mainly enjoy movies in my personal smart home theater. Yet, I still go to the theater, especially the open air ones. I watch at least one movie per day. Action movies are my favorite but other genres are also on my screen..

My passion for movies, cinema, home theater and smart home led me to start this blog.

During this adventure I have Georgios Sourvanos as a collaborator.

Giorgos has a diploma in Mechanical and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. In 1985 he joined the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCCA). After serving in various positions he finally joined the Flight Standards Division, where he was also its Acting Director.

Since his early years he developed a great enthusiasm for cinema. He is still a fan of the classic movies of the 30s, 40s and 50s. He contributes mainly to the great classic movie scenes of all times.

The blog will also be benefited from several occasional contributors.
