The Rock

Last night I watched The Rock again, for the 12th, or so, time. I watched it for the first time in a San Francisco movie theater. What an action movie.

Michael Bay directed this masterpiece. The actors, Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris, are top of the line.

The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat for 2 hours and 16 minutes. An FBI expert (Cage), specialized on chemical weapons, is asked to break into Alcatraz prison. He is helped by a former SAS agent (Connery) who was a political prisoner. Alcatraz is under the control of a military group, led by a renegade general (Harris). The group threatens to attack San Francisco using nerve gas.

The Rock is a top of the line action movie. In fact, it defines action movies.

It is a must for any cinephile library.
