So far in a series of previous posts that started in January 2024, I have searched Ngram for the names of 54 iconic actors and actresses from the Hollywood era. They are shown in the figure that follows, in which the vertical axis shows fame in famon.

Among them Elvis Presley has the highest fame, 53 famons. He is closely followed by Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne and Frank Sinatra. All of them are world symbols.

Monroe and Presley never won an Oscar. They were also never nominated for one.

Wayne won 1 Oscar (best actor in a leading role). He was also nominated for one two more times.

Sinatra has one Oscar (best actor in supporting role) and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Academy Award. He was also nominated for an Oscar one more time.

The  vast majority of the actresses/actors, 41 out of the 54 , i.e. 76%, have fame less than 20 famons as shown in the graph above. In this graph the vertical axis shows fame in famon and the horizontal one shows number of actors/actresses.

Is there any relationship between fame and Oscars?

Will there be someone more famous than Elvis Presley?

There will be many more comparisons. Stay tuned up.
